What are different paint sheens?
The sheen of paint is basically how shiny the finish looks. A flat paint has no sheen, semi-gloss has a pretty soft glow when the light reflects off of it, and high-gloss paint offers a very shiny finish.
How can I test whether paint is oil or latex?
An easy way to test whether the paint is oil or latex is to put a drop of the paint in a glass full of water to see if it floats or dissolves. Oil-based paint won't dissolve while water-based latex paint will dissolve completely.
How do I maintain my exterior painting job?
To maintain your exterior paint job, just make sure you regularly take care of the exterior cleaning. When dirt and grime builds up on the paint finish, it wears the protective finish down much sooner than if you kept up the pressure washing. Plus, the color will look dull and darker. If you need help with pressure washing, just give us a call!
